Screw or Spring Take-Up |
 |
The screw take-up is the
manual type in which screws are provided to compensate for increased
chain length. The screws must be manually adjusted. Frequency of
adjustment will vary with such factors as conveyor size, overall chain
length, trolley loads and conveyor speed; recommended schedules for
screw take-up adjustment will be developed by Anchor engineers to meet
the needs of a particular installation.
The spring take-up is the
most economical automatic type available. It is identical with the screw
take-up except that heavy coil springs replace the screws. This type is
satisfactory where short chain length is involved.
