Layout
  1. Draw a scale plan of the building area in which the conveyor system is to be installed. Original building drawings are helpful but actual conditions must be checked at building site.
  2. Show column or bay marks.
  3. Dimension column centers.
  4. Show North Direction
  5. Show size and elevation of building construction from which conveyor system is to be supported.
  6. Show any equipment or obstruction that might affect path of conveyor.
  7. Show "Load" and "Unload" points and connect these points with the most economical path. Use closely spaced parallel lines when possible to reduce superstructure steel, supporting steel, and guards.
  8. Show conveyor elevations.
  9. Show turns and dips.
  10. Dimension conveyor in relation to building columns.
  11. Locate Guard, if required.
  12. Locate expansion joints, if required.
  13. Locate "Down-hill" and "Up-hill" safety stops, if required.
